RenoBIM - a software tool aimed at implementing the methodology for the holistic building energy efficient renovation process – has been presented during the International Wood Construction Forum 2017 which took place in Nancy, 06-07th April 2017.
Yvon Sebesi from Dietrichs’ company presented the most important advantages of RenoBIM which is an innovative solution based on Building Information Modelling technology. The toll allows automating the data flow, starting from the data gathering of the existing building, through the generation of a 3D model of the building and the design of the renovation project with the BERTIM prefabricated modules, up to the integration of the data with CNC manufacturing technology. The BERTIM consortium is finishing works on the prototype of RenoBIM which will be tested during the coming months.
The International Wood Construction Forum (FBC) reunites the French and international worlds of wood construction annually in France. It provides architects, engineers and builders with an opportunity to report on experiences, processes and goals related to wood structures and construction. At the same time, the conference provides an opportunity for them to learn about the latest developments and to exchange experiences.
During the last edition of this event, 150 lecturers presented promising results of French and international projects which took on the latest technical themes: development and use of local resources (white fir, spruce, oak, beech, Douglas fir), urban concentration (extensions, vertical expansions), sport and health facilities, architectural heritage and wood maintenance, durable housing and emergency housing.
